OneUp Components EDC Threaded Top Cap Description:
The OneUp Components EDC Threaded Top Cap is designed to turn the unused space inside of a forks steerer tube into a space that is available to carry multi-tools and tire repair tools. The lightweight aluminum top cap will replace a traditional top cap, bolt, and star nut, which both reduces weight and makes it very easy to adjust the headset bearing preload by using a cassette lockring tool. Once the top cap is installed, many variations of the EDC system can be inserted into the forks steerer tube, depending on how much space is available and what you want to be able to fix in an emergency. In addition, the top cap will come with a plug for the bottom of the steerer tube/fork to keep the insides of the fork clean and to prevent whatever you choose to put in the fork from rattling around.
Note: Top caps are compatible with all 1/18" alloy steerer tubes, but the EDC steerer plug is required for EDC tool storage and is compatible with most of the tapered alloy steerer tubes currently on the market; to access a webpage to check your fork for compatibility, click on link found in the compatibility tab for this listing. Steerer tube will need to be threaded to use this top cap, which can be done using the OneUp Components EDC Tap Kit (sold separately).
