I've done a lot of USA cross country touring in the past and for the most part these are solid in construction and smartly engineered. Be aware to tighten the hardware (attaching to the rack) as it arrives loose. Spacers to accommodate different size racks are included.
I like the rain covers that stow in the top pocket too.
Only gripe is the fabric is slightly on the thin side and the attacking hardware is a little awkward (although not really a problem for me).
These older? panniers (using reflective green/yellow on the face) are fairly lightweight with slightly flimsy backing reinforced where it needs to be. The clips designed to clamp onto the rack seem well designed and its great that Nashbar stocks spare parts for the Transit Pannier system. Has flat internal netting pockets and a larger zippered flat pocket behind the smaller pockets. It includes a clip shoulder strap in addition to the sturdy plastic carrying handles designed onto the clip bar. The only caveat keeping this from a 5 star rating is the thin (waterproof) materiel which may have questionable toughness but still maintains shape and form even with heavy groceries. the metal 'Transit' Plate on the top flap might be stylish but to me just adds weight and a potential future water channel though it does seems waterproof. The top rack clips are positionally adjustable using two anodized phillips head screws. The bottom stabilizer clip uses a silver phillips head screw to secure in position and both should be checked frequently or you will lose the clip (*cough*).
Would recommend the transit torrents for a decent, medium quality Pannier.
