TransIt Escape DX Large Panniers (Black) (Pair)
Only have used them for a few weeks now but better than expected for budget panniers.
I've done a lot of USA cross country touring in the past and for the most part these are solid in construction and smartly engineered. Be aware to tighten the hardware (attaching to the rack) as it arrives loose. Spacers to accommodate different size racks are included.
I like the rain covers that stow in the top pocket too.
Only gripe is the fabric is slightly on the thin side and the attacking hardware is a little awkward (although not really a problem for me).

For -Torrent SL waterproof Panniers (neon yellow facing)-
These older? panniers (using reflective green/yellow on the face) are fairly lightweight with slightly flimsy backing reinforced where it needs to be. The clips designed to clamp onto the rack seem well designed and its great that Nashbar stocks spare parts for the Transit Pannier system. Has flat internal netting pockets and a larger zippered flat pocket behind the smaller pockets. It includes a clip shoulder strap in addition to the sturdy plastic carrying handles designed onto the clip bar. The only caveat keeping this from a 5 star rating is the thin (waterproof) materiel which may have questionable toughness but still maintains shape and form even with heavy groceries. the metal 'Transit' Plate on the top flap might be stylish but to me just adds weight and a potential future water channel though it does seems waterproof. The top rack clips are positionally adjustable using two anodized phillips head screws. The bottom stabilizer clip uses a silver phillips head screw to secure in position and both should be checked frequently or you will lose the clip (*cough*).
Would recommend the transit torrents for a decent, medium quality Pannier.

TransIt Escape DX Large Panniers (Black) (Pair)
Excellent for what I need. They're large enough for two full bags of groceries, easy to get stuff in and out of them. If I were camp-touring for a couple months, I might care about the way they connect. The pannier connection parts at the level of the top of the back rack stick up above the rack an inch or so. That would force me to carry a sleeping bag/pad/tent from front to back instead of side to side. And maybe even that could push on them and jar the panniers? I'm not sure, but since I'm not carrying anything on top of them, I don't have an issue.

TransIt Escape DX Large Panniers (Black) (Pair)
These panniers are a bit on the lightweight side. The fabric is not as thick as I'd like, especially on the bottom where it will probably wear through prematurely. The zippers and buckles are a bit undersized. The small parts that allow the hooks to fit different size rack tubing without rattling tend to fall out of place. They're generally functional and possibly worth the price, but I don't expect them to last for many years.

TransIt Escape DX Large Panniers (Black) (Pair)
I got these to use back and forth to work and church and use for family pickics. They are perfect for all of that but if you want to go touring I'd recommend something else. Awesome product and well made. The only thing I would change is the draw string, it sort of seals the main part of the bag but a zipper would be better. Like I said great for what I do.
