Time ICLIC Road Cleats Description:
The Time ICLIC Road Cleats are cleats designed to work with TIME XPRO and XPRESSO pedals, as well as any other Time pedals that utilize the ICLIC cleat. Rugged thermoplastic construction keeps these cleats light and reduces annoying noises from the cleat/pedal interface, while also being incredibly resistant to wear and tear resulting in a long useful life. These cleats are available in a fixed and in a free floating design that provides the rider with the opportunity to dial in the position and feel of the cleats to best suit their riding style, and there are pronounced alignment marks outside of the large cleat bolt slots that makes it much easier to set up the new cleats to match the position of worn out cleats when it is time for the cleats to be replaced.
Pro Tip: Apply a little bit of blue Loctite or other similar thread locking compound to each of the bolts to prevent cleats from coming loose. Recommended cleat bolt torque is 4.5 Nm.
Features:
- Bi-material construction puts slightly softer, grippier material on the corners of the cleat to provide a bit of traction when off the bike, and harder material throughout the rest of the cleat that will resist wear and tear and provide a longer useful life
- Fixed version of these cleats does not allow for any angular or lateral float to lock in the foot position for riders whom prefer a more locked in feel
- Free Floating version offers 5° of angular float and 1.25mm of lateral float to allow a riders foot and leg to naturally line up which may reduce the potential for knee and joint pain; these are the stock cleats that are shipped with TIME XPRO and XPRESSO pedals
- Cleats can be moved forward and backwards as well as side to side to optimize foot position over the centerline of the pedal spindle as well as the Q-factor (how far the feet are from the centerline of the bike)
- Q-Factor for Free Floating cleats can further be optimized by switching the cleats from shoe to shoe; installing cleat with an "R" on the right shoe results in a narrower overall Q-Factor, while installing the "L" cleat on the right shoe will allow for a wider Q-Factor
