Rock "N" Roll Nipple Cream Spoke Thread Prep is a special compound that makes it easier to lace up a wheel, and at the same time will make long term maintenance and truing of the wheels much easier. Putting a drop or two of this thread prep on the spoke prior to inserting it into the spoke nipple will allow the spoke nipple to thread on to the spoke easier, and then gives the thread enough "bite" to prevent premature loosening of the spoke to ensure a wheel will stay truer longer than a wheel that does not use spoke thread prep. An additional benefit of the Nipple Cream is that it provides protection against corrosion so you will not have to fight a seized spoke when it is time to true up the wheel, and the formula will stay pliable enough that the spoke will continue to turn easily well after this thread prep is applied.
