Pearl Izumi Women's Expedition Bib Shorts Description:
The Pearl Izumi Women's Expedition Bib Shorts are designed to make both planned and unplanned biking adventures much more enjoyable. The rugged Transfer fabric used on the outer portion of these shorts is a blend of recycled polyester, nylon, and elastane that results in a short with impressive moisture wicking and compressive properties that will improve the comfort and muscular performance of the rider. Raw edges without any extra stitching are featured on every opening and on the straps which will minimize friction and abrasions on the skin, and as a bonus, due to those edges lying flat against the skin, the straps will fit and look better under any outer layers. Those straps also work with a unique Drop-Tail panel on the lower portion of these shorts to allow the rear of the shorts to be pulled down and out of the way for restroom breaks without needing to undress first; when that rear panel is in the normal "up" position the shorts will feel like a normal pair of shorts and provide excellent skin coverage. Adding to the versatility of these shorts are pockets positioned on each thigh that will add to your available storage space for tools, cards, nutritional supplements, lip balm, or any other riding essentials, and working to keep everything in place on your legs is a low profile silicone print on the inside of the leg cuffs. Rounding out the outer part of these shorts are subtle reflective logos that will improve the visibility of the rider in low light conditions.
Aside from the outer short construction, the other outstanding feature of these shorts is the premium women's specific Elite Levitate dual density chamois. The base of this chamois uses a medium density memory foam that easily conforms to the riders body to reduce friction and chafing, and a much higher density foam is laid on top of this base layer which will provide excellent support for a riders weight especially over longer bike rides. To further improve the riders comfort, the padding and top sheet on the chamois have a relief channel mechanically shaved into it that will relieve pressure on sensitive soft tissues which will not only add excellent comfort for short rides, the reliefs in the padding will also fight off numbness that can creep in on longer bike rides. Add in the fact that the chamois is anti-microbial which helps it to fight off unwanted funk plus all of the previously mentioned highlights and what you get is a pair of shorts that are designed to comfortably take your bike rides further than you have ever gone.
