ENVE M5 Pro Carbon Mountain Wheel Description:
The M5 Pro is ENVE’s flagship, no-holds barred XC mountain bike racing wheelset that is designed to bring a compliant ride, durability, and light weight to riders looking to upgrade their speedy mountain bike. Constructed out of a compliant but tough carbon fiber layup, these wheels have unique front and rear specific rim profiles. The front rim has wider overall profile with slightly thinner bead wall than the rear wheel which results in more compliance that will improve the front wheel/tire's ability to stick to corners and traction when rolling over obstacles, while the rear wheel has been built with a slightly narrower profile with thicker bead wall that better protects the tires sidewall and creates a tougher wheel that can support the rider's weight and pedaling torque. Both wheels also have ENVE's Wide Hookless Bead design for improved impact resistance as well as protection for the tire in rough terrain.
At the core of the M5 rear wheels is ENVE's straight-pull INNERDRIVE mountain bike hubs. INNERDRIVE improves ratchet-driven technologies by increasing the diameter of the ratchets, which allows for more engagement points without sacrificing durability. Further benefits of the INNERDRIVE system include ENVE’s Perfect Preload system which delivers prolonged bearing life, reduced rolling friction, and minimal maintenance. The straight pull hubs and spoke design eliminate the J-Bend found in traditional spokes, which is a common spoke failure point, and as added bonuses these spokes weigh less and add to the overall compliance of the wheels. Additionally these wheels are proudly built in the USA and are backed by an excellent warranty (when registered through ENVE's website), allowing a rider to focus on setting personal bests and to worry less about their wheels getting them to the finish line.
